Material:
For masala:
2 tbsp oil
1 large onion
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 green chillies
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
½ tsp garam amsala
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
essential salt
2 tomatoes
2 cups water
Juice of ½-1 lemon
coriander leaves

For Vengaya Vada:
1 cup rice flour
½ cup gram flour flour
1 onion
1 teaspoon crushed ginger garlic
1 green chilli
curry leaves
coriander leaves
½ tsp fennel seeds
¾-1 teaspoon chili powder
¼ tsp asafoetida
essential salt
1 tablespoon hot oil
essential water
oil for frying

To assemble the plate:
Chopped onion
chopped coriander

Chaat masala or lemon juice (if required)
